At the third Republican presidential debate in Miami, businessman Vivek Ramaswamy came out of the gate with a colorful swipe at both Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley.
During the first question on Israel, both DeSantis and Haley pledged their support unconditionally to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, urging him to "finish" terror group Hamas.
However, Ramaswamy, who identifies more with the isolationist wing of the GOP, tore into them for their willingness to be involved in foreign entanglements, attacking Haley in particular for supporting Ukraine in its resistance to the Russian invasion and suggesting the U.S. is only involved there because Hunter Biden took a "bribe" from the country.
"Do you want a leader of the new generation who will put America first?" asked Ramaswamy. "Or do you want Dick Cheney in three-inch heels? ... You've got two of them onstage."
The swipe obviously references Haley being a woman, but also references recent reports that DeSantis is using artificial lifts in his shoes on the campaign trail to make himself look taller.
All of this takes place at the same time that former President Donald Trump, who has declined to participate in any of the debates, is hosting a counterprogramming event in nearby Hialeah.
