Donald Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen is set to testify in the New York fraud case on Tuesday, he told Raw Story.
Cohen had delayed testimony earlier this week to deal with a medical issue.
"I made a commitment to testify and I'm going to honor the court's subpoena," he said Friday.
POLL: Should Trump be allowed to run for office?
In an earlier statement to Raw Story, made on Monday, he'd said, “I am thankful the medical condition, while incredibly painful, does not require an immediate procedure. I anticipate appearing as soon as the pain subsides. When I do testify, I am certain Donald will be in attendance, sitting with his lawyers at the defendant’s table."
Trump attacked Cohen for not having the "guts" to face him in court when he postponed his appearance earlier this week. It's unknown if Trump will be in court for Tuesday' testimony, but Cohen said, "I hope so."
Reporters noticed that, when Trump was in court, he was staring down the witnesses as they were on the stand. Earlier this week, Trump was huffing and puffing from the defense table. On Friday, he was being threatened with jail time for failing to remove a post he made against Judge Arthur Engoron's court clerk from his website.
Judge Engoron asked Trump's lawyers why he shouldn't impose "serious" sanctions, "including financial sanctions" "or possibly imprisoning him" for violating the gag order.
When asked about being stared down by the former president, Cohen said he's unintimidated and accustomed to it.
Last week, Cohen told Raw Story: “If I was afraid of Donald, I wouldn’t have written two New York Times bestsellers, testified before the Mueller team, seven congressional committees, 23 appearances before the Manhattan DA, and provided information to the [New York attorney general] that is the basis of this trial. Looking forward to seeing you in court very soon!”
