Donald Trump on Thursday was accused of having "personally pressured" at least two Republicans to unlawfully block the 2020 election results, and social media is exploding with comments on the audio recording.

The comments came rolling in, including from reporters and experts who have been closely following these election fraud claims for several years.

Politico reporter Heidi Przybyla said Thursday, "There's a recording."

"We still don't know what exactly happened in this unusual meeting -- in which Trump summoned Michigan GOP leaders to the Oval as he sought to subvert the will of the people," she added. "Michigan was poised to certify the vote."

Journalist Bill Grueskin poked fun at Trump's legal defense.

"But we were told that Trump was just a hapless conveyor of legal advice from his excellent attorneys," he said. He also said he just wanted to get the facts correct.

"So if we have this right: Trump is jabbering away, incriminating himself in federal crimes, to a couple of election canvassers who are sitting in a car on a November evening while other people are hopping into the vehicle," he added in a separate post on social media.

Political analyst Greg Bluestein of Georgia simply said, "Hmmmm where have I seen this before?"

Another Georgia analyst, law professor Anthony Michael Kreis, said the recording is "potentially important for the Georgia case where fellow call participant Ronna McDaniel is on Fani Willis' witness list."

MSNBC legal analyst Lisa Rubin said the "craziest" part of the newly publicized phone call is "how his language mirrors what he said on 1/6/21."

A Vanity Fair correspondent questioned what else we might learn about the alleged election subversion.

"Three years later, we're STILL learning more about Trump's 2020 election plot. How much is still concealed?" Brian Stelter asked.
