'Not ShamWoW!!' Shock as ex-infomercial actor files to run for office as a Republican

A man best known as "the ShamWow guy" just filed to run for office as a Republican, according to filings.

The candidate, who registered as Offer Vince "ShamWow" Shlomi in the filing, is seeking to replace Congressman John Carter (R-TX-31), who was born in 1941.

The filing was received on Friday, and can be viewed on the Texas GOP site.

Politics1.com wrote, "TX CD-31. Remember the 'ShamWow' guy from those infomercials a decade ago? Well, that guy - Offer 'Vince' Shlomi (R) - is one of 9 GOP challengers running against US Rep John Carter (R) in the primary."

Politics & Poll Tracker said, "Vince Offer, the salesman behind ShamWow, has filed to run against congressman John Carter (R-TX) in #TX31."

Election Wizard chimed in, "ELECTION 2026: Vince Offer, the ShamWow salesman, has filed as a Republican to challenge 81-year-old Congressman John Carter (R-TX) in the primary.

One user, BigVFrmHarlemWorld used an expletive and added, "Not ShamWoW !!!!"
