An Iowa Republican was booed by constituents after claiming that God had saved president Donald Trump's life from an assassin's bullet.
Rep. Ashley Hinson (R-IA) faced significant pushback at the town hall in her home district and the boos and jeers started during her prepared remarks, when she spoke in favor of the president's "big beautiful bill," which would establish new eligibility requirements for Medicaid, among other changes, reported The New Republic.
“We were seeing hardworking men and women in Iowa and our country feel like their voices were not heard," Hinson told the crowd. "Families in Iowa have told me for the last four years that we wanna make sure we have safe streets, we have affordable groceries and gas, and that kids have the opportunity to live out the American dream."

"That is what President Trump is delivering for us," she said, before she was interrupted. "The president is, I believe, fighting for you and fighting for me—”
“NOOO!” the crowd roared back.
Hinson pressed on, and her constituents got even louder as she continued.
“I think God saved president Trump’s life in Butler, Pennsylvania, for a reason," Hinson said. "I think that he is helping us to save and redirect the future of our country. He is helping deport criminal illegal aliens rather than letting them roam our streets freely—”
More boos and angry jeers burst forth, including someone calling her a liar, while others called out that the congresswoman was a fraud.
Numerous GOP lawmakers have faced hostile crowds back home at town halls since Trump returned to office with GOP congressional majorities, and one man in the audience asked why congressional Republicans have not challenged the president.
"There’s lots of reasons why somebody like you might be silent," the man said to cheers, according to NBC News. "You might be scared to say something. You might actually like to see the corruption ... or you might not care about it. Can you help me understand why you are silent about this corruption?"
Hinson called his question unfair as the crowd grew restless, saying she cared about "transparency and accountability and doing things the right way," but she was repeatedly called a fraud throughout the event.
“When are you going to do the responsibility that you were elected for by holding the executive branch accountable up to and including impeachment?” another man asked, saying Trump and his cabinet were breaking the law by ignoring court orders.
"Judges need to follow the law. I don't think this country needs another impeachment charade," Hinson replied, but the crowd voiced their disagreement.
