Speaker Mike Johnson has reportedly been telling members of his party not to stage any embarrassing protests or shout out at President Joe Biden during the State of the Union Address on Thursday — but it appears his demands are falling on deaf ears.
At least two conservative members told the Louisiana Republican they don't care about his requests.
"Decorum broke a long time ago," said Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), reported Politico's Melanie Zanona.
And Rep. Lauren Boebert then told Zanona, “I don’t even promise my pastor I’m going to hold back in church."
In recent memory, the first Republican outburst — which drew rebukes from both sides — came from Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC), who screamed, "You lie!" at then-President Barack Obama in 2009. Obama just told his audience that the Affordable Care Act would not give free health insurance to undocumented immigrants.
Members of both parties voted to condemn Wilson officially after the incident.
Greene and Boebert loudly heckled Biden throughout the 2022 State of the Union Address, constantly interrupting him and trying to start a chant of "build the wall."

Last year, Greene yelled "liar!" and gave Biden the thumbs down as he said that Republican lawmakers had proposed cuts to Medicare and Social Security.
Several members of Congress are expecting outbursts Thursday.
"Will they do it? Does the Baptist Church have a bus? Of course they do," Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) told Axios.
"They're not going to tell her what to do. She captains her own ship," said fellow Republican Rep. Ralph Norman (SC) about Greene to the site.
