'War crimes!' Marco Rubio interrupted by screaming protester at big hearing
Senate Foreign Relations Committee/screen grab

A protester alleging U.S. war crimes interrupted Secretary of State Marco Rubio at a hearing on Venezuela.

While he was speaking before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Wednesday, Rubio was interrupted by a protester with a sign reading "Hands off Venezuela."

The protester could be heard shouting about "war crimes."

"All right, here we go," Chairman Jim Risch (R-ID) stated. "Suspend! You know the drill. Off to jail."

"That's a one-year ban from the committee," he added. "Anyone who is a persistent violator will be banned for three years. So don't know whether the guy falls in that category looks like it. I hope after three years you'll find a more productive means of employment."

"There'll be a couple more," Rubio predicted.
