Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani uncorked yet another bonkers conspiracy theory on Friday and it was too much even for longtime Trump ally Steve Bannon.

While appearing on Bannon's podcast, Giuliani gave legal advice to former President Donald Trump's impeachment defense team in which he encouraged them to show that the January 6th Trump supporter riots at the United States Capitol building were actually a false flag operation planned by antifa.

While Giuliani has tried in the past to blame antifa for the riots, this time he added a new nefarious organization into the mix: The Lincoln Project, which is made up of anti-Trump GOP operatives who delight in tormenting the former president by buying ads on his favorite Fox News shows.

"Hold on, whoa, whoa, whoa," Bannon interjected. "What groups did you say were working for the Lincoln Project?"

"One of the people who organized this is well known for having worked with the Lincoln Project," he replied.

"OK, but who is it?" Bannon asked.

Giuliani then went on a long, rambling aside about the president's enemies plotting against him, after which Bannon cut in again.

"Who's the guy working with the Lincoln Project?" he asked.

"He's, uh, he's a, uh, I don't know if I can reveal his name," Giuliani replied. "Because we have that from anonymous sources."

"This is why we're getting blown up all the time," Bannon shot back. "You can't throw a charge out there like that and then say, 'I got a double-secret-probation guy who I can't mention!"
