John Oliver summed up Rudy Giuliani's defamation trial this week by showing off the desperation of his own staff to get him away from reporters.
Outside his trial on Dec. 11, Giuliani defamed Georgia election workers Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss again, despite already being found liable for defaming them the first time around.
"You're damn right they did," Giuliani told a reporter who disagreed that there is no proof of the former mayor's claims.

That's when Giuliani's spokesman grabbed him, trying to usher him from the microphone. He loudly shouted that the ex-mayor is the same one who cleaned up New York City, fought the mafia and he almost mentioned the third thing but ushered him toward the car instead.
"Wow, there is so much there that is pathetic," said Oliver. "That man is desperately trying to coast off of the guy that Giuliani was 20 years ago. It is the rare attempt to 'Weekend-At-Bernie's' someone who is still alive! Also, he bailed on that defense mid-sentence. 'Yeah, I was gonna get to 9/11 but this has been a disaster! Just get in the f---ing car, Rudy!"'
Their jury ultimately decided that Giuliani owed the women shy of $150 million for his ongoing character assassination and the damage they endured as a result.
The Oliver crowd went wild when he announced the number.
And while he would love to spend 20 minutes mocking Giuliani, he turned instead to his main story of the night, picking a fight with Elon Musk.
