Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) lost previous lawsuits against the New York Times, but she's not giving in.
Adam Klasfeld, editor-in-chief of All Rise News, posted a screen capture of the docket showing Palin asking for a new trial.
Palin filed a lawsuit against the Times, alleging that the newspaper intentionally defamed her in a 2017 editorial. The issue goes back to the assassination attempt against former Rep. Gabby Giffords in 2011.
"In a 2017 editorial, The New York Times linked a 2011 shooting in Arizona that wounded lawmaker Gabrielle Giffords and killed six others with an ad run by Palin's political action committee," said a report from AFP.

She then brought the lawsuit, saying that the editorial besmirched her character.
In 2022, a New York jury ultimately ruled against Palin in its verdict.
That lawsuit is coming back again, however.
"A federal judge won't stop her from trying, yet," noted Klasfeld.
A minute entry was entered for the docket, and the parties held a call on Monday.
"Plaintiffs' unopposed application for leave to file a motion for a new trial, a motion to set aside the verdict and judgment, and a renewed motion for judgment as a matter of law is hereby granted. The parties should jointly call chambers by no later than 5/23/2025 to set a briefing schedule," it says.
