
Convicted murderer Scott Peterson has had his case picked up by The Los Angeles Innocence Project, ABC News reported.
Peterson was convicted in 2004 of the murder of his pregnant wife Laci Peterson. He was originally given the death penalty, but that sentenced was overturned and he was subsequently sentenced to life in prison.

The Innocence Project — which is committed to exonerating wrongly convicted prisoners — is seeking new evidence from Peterson's original trial, ACB reported.
Peterson, who pleaded not guilty, has maintained his innocence and says his trial was unfair due to jury misconduct. His lawyers have previously claimed that a woman known as "Juror 7" had not disclosed her involvement in other court cases.
