CNN anchors pile on Sean Spicer for 'sinking to new lows' during HBO Real Time appearance

CNN's Jim Acosta and Brian Stelter ripped into Sean Spicer on Saturday, after the former White House press secretary refused to say whether Donald Trump won or lost the 2020 election.

"Spicer answered the question the only way that Spicer can," Acosta said, before playing a clip from Spicer's interview with HBO Real Time host Bill Maher.

Stelter responded by saying that before Spicer joined Trump's White House, he was a "reality-based Republican."

"To see him sink to these new lows, because he has this low-rated show on Newsmax and he wants to hold onto his audience and sell a new book," Stelter said.

"It's just so depressing," Acosta responded. "I feel bad for him sometimes, but I know I'm not supposed to feel bad. He started his stint as White House Press secretary delivering one of the biggest lies of all time about Trump's inauguration crowd size, and he still can't tell people the truth, and it's very sad."
