Sean Spicer offered a curious explanation for a former White House colleague who's apparently hiding out from a subpoena.

The House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 insurrection has been unable to physically serve a subpoena to former Donald Trump aide Dan Scavino, and the former White House press secretary cracked an inside joke among conservatives.

"Last time I saw him he was with Brandon," Spicer tweeted, linking to a report about Scavino dodging the subpoena.

The joke is apparently based on an NBC reporter's comments after fans began chanting, "f*cking Joe Biden," during an interview with NASCAR driver Brandon Brown.

"As you can hear the chants from the crowd — 'Let's go Brandon,'" the reporter said, as some members of the crowd plainly chanted the profane cheer that has been heard at various sporting events in recent weeks.

Donald Trump Jr. and other conservatives have shared a clip of the interview to delight in the reporter's misunderstanding -- or unwillingness to repeat profanity on air.
