A key ally of President Donald Trump slammed Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Monday for not sending a tough-love message to Israel, according to a new report.
Steve Bannon, host of the "War Room" podcast and former Trump advisor, said on a Monday episode of his podcast that Secretary of State Marco Rubio has so far failed to send a "message" to Israel following its strikes on Doha, Qatar, a move that hastened the Trump administration's efforts to end the war in Gaza, The Daily Beast reported.
“When Netanyahu fired on Qatar… he had enough, he sent Marco over... to give it to him with both barrels, [to say] ‘This is not acceptable, you’re not going to do this,’” Bannon said.
“And what did Rubio do? Posed at the Wailing Wall with a yarmulke,” Bannon said.
“If you want a greater Israel project, we’re not gonna stop you," he added. "We’re just not gonna support it.”
Bannon's comments come at a time when the MAGA base appears to be fracturing over Trump's immigration raids and his failures to release the Jeffrey Epstein files.
