The father of a beheading victim pleaded for leniency for the convicted killer, 25-year-old Taylor Schabusiness, at her sentencing hearing on Tuesday, reported The Daily Beast.

“Everybody makes bad choices and I think there’s a lot of hope for you,” Michael Thyrion told Schabusiness, who killed his son Shad, 24, at a hearing in Wisconsin. “I know you’ve got heart. I wish you no harm.”

The judge appeared unimpressed by this, siding with prosecutors and sentencing Schabusiness to life without the possibility of parole.

The killing took place in February 2022. Schabusiness and Thyrion, who both dropped out of the same high school, met at Thyrion's house and had a methamphetamine-fueled sexual encounter, after which Schabusiness choked him to death with a chain. Schabusiness then decapitated his corpse with a bread knife, chopped up the rest of the body, left his head and genitals in a bucket for his family to find, and took some of his severed limbs with her.

Schabusiness' trial took a strange turn earlier this year when she assaulted her attorney out of the blue in the courtroom.

She pleaded not guilty by reason of mental defect, but the jury found her competent to stand trial.

After all of the facts of the case were laid out, it took the jury just 45 minutes to find her guilty.
