MSNBC's Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski mocked the MAGA freakout over Taylor Swift.
The "Morning Joe" co-hosts showed a montage of right-wing media personalities complaining about Swift and her popularity, apparently hedging against her expected endorsement of President Joe Biden – whom she backed in 2020 – and Scarborough and Brzezinski burst into laughter at one commentator who complained that her fans were guilty of "idolatry."
"The first guy saying this is really bad, it's idolatry," Brzezinski said. "Imagine that. Oh my God, who would know about that?"
"Irony," Scarborough added, shaking his head.
"Pot, kettle, pot, kettle," offered analyst John Heilemann.
Scarborough noted that another commentator had complained that Swift had a "mouth like a teamster," when their preferred presidential candidate frequently used profanity at campaign rallies and other public events.

"Idolatry, and then manners?" Scarborough said. "This from – they're very worried about potty mouth."
"Oh my gosh, how dare she!" Brzezinski added, in mock indignation.
Trump himself is apparently jealous of the singer-songwriter's fame, according to sources who said the former president is angry that she would back his rival and mystified that she was chosen as Time Magazine's Person of the Year instead of him.
"Trump himself recently claimed in private that he was more popular than the music star and that his fans were more committed than hers," Brzezinski said.
"Well, her fans won't actually kill four cops," Scarborough added. "They won't try to take the government over, if that is what you mean. They won't take American flags and turn them into spears, if that is what you are talking about."
"Hey, Donald Trump is insecure about how famous he is and whenever there is someone more famous than him and gets on the cover of Time Magazine he gets mad," Heilemann said, "and the sun rises in the east and sets in the west."
