Golf legend Tiger Woods called President Donald Trump after he flipped his Land Rover, according to body camera footage released by authorities in Jupiter Island, Florida, on Thursday.

In the video, a deputy from the Martin County Sheriff’s Office tells Woods to "just hang out here" following the crash where the athlete had clipped a trailer as a truck was turning into a driveway, NBC News reported.

"Yeah, I was just talking to the president," Woods said.

Last week, Trump said he spoke with Woods and described him as a close friend. It was not previously known that Woods had called him from the crash.

Woods was later arrested for a misdemeanor DUI after he refused to take a urinalysis test after he was involved in a single-car accident, in which the vehicle Woods was driving rolled over. He pleaded not guilty to the charges on Tuesday.

"I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today," Woods wrote in a statement posted on X. "I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health. This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well being and work toward lasting recovery."

"I'm committed to taking the time needed to return in a healthier, stronger, and more focused place, both personally and professionally," he added. "I appreciate your understanding and support, and ask for privacy for my family, loved ones and myself at this time."
