President Donald Trump on Tuesday promised his administration would “look into” organizations such as Planned Parenthood over unfounded claims that they traffic fetal tissue for profit.
Trump made the comments while speaking to reporters at the White House, where he left open the possibility of pursuing criminal charges related to what a reporter called the “harvesting of baby organs.”
“If Planned Parenthood is defunded, would you look into the harvesting of baby organs that they've done throughout the years, and maybe go after some criminal prosecution on that?” the reporter asked Trump.

“Well, I think you're talking about a subject that is a heated subject, and we'll look into it,” the president said. “We’re going to look into everything. But that's certainly a subject that's been debated for a long time, and we will look into it. Yeah.”
The reporter asked the question as a follow-up to Trump praising his Elon Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency, which despite anger boiling over in congressional town halls and protests nationwide, Trump said he thinks “DOGE is actually very popular because of what's happening.”
“They're hearing about all of these scams and for big, big money, tremendous amount and when you add it up, just hundreds of billions of dollars being wasted and much of it's fraud. You know, we talk about waste, and it is waste and abuse, but a lot of it’s fraud too."
