President Donald Trump claims the difference between his first term and his second term is that he was once the hunted and now he is the hunter.
The remarks came as he, along with reporters, watched as construction workers installed a flag pole, which is nearly 100 feet high, on the White House South lawn.
“What gave you the idea to do this?” one reporter asked.
“I've had it for a long time. The first time I had it, you know, you guys [the media] were after me and I said, ‘I had to focus.’”
“I was the hunted,” Trump said of his first term, “and now I'm the hunter. It’s a big difference.”
The President claims the current flag pole is “a little tiny flag pole which is only 25 feet high” and said his installation is “the best you can get.” There are also plans to put a flower bed around the new flag poles.
Trump claims that the two poles, which are being put up, he is paying for with his own money.
Throughout the morning, the president refused to use the word erected. He made note of this phrasing earlier in the day because he believes “you people” (meaning the media) would go crazy.
The impromptu press conference also saw Trump speak about the Israel-Iran conflict and air his grievances about Fed Chair Jerome Powell. Trump claims that Powell 'hates me.'
