Special counsel Jack Smith has slapped down a dismissal motion from Donald Trump's body man Walt Nauta in the classified documents case in which both face criminal charges, court records show.

Smith filed a response in Florida federal court contesting Nauta's demand that charges of concealing or withholding documents and taking part in a conspiracy to obstruct justice be dropped.

“Nauta’s challenges to the charges get the law entirely wrong,” Smith writes. “Nauta’s motion should be denied in its entirety, and no hearing is required to address the issues he raises.”

Smith’s slap-back was one among several dismissal motions to which he filed objections Thursday, one from co-defendant Carlos de Oliveira and several from Trump.

The three men pleaded not guilty to charges linked to boxes of classified documents found stored at Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s Florida social club and residence.

Last month, they also put their names to dismissal motions that accuse Smith’s legal team of making allegations that lacked specificity.

Smith issues a swift and sharp response to this argument.

"The Superseding Indictment contains a detailed, clear, and thorough recitation of the factual allegations, carefully tracks the applicable statutory language, and fully apprises Nauta of the crimes with which he is charged," Smith's response explains.

"[It] is more than sufficient…and nothing more is required.”
