Donald Trump Saturday was on the defense as he downplayed reports of an "explosive" clash between his cabinet members and Elon Musk, who happens to be the richest man in the world.

Raw Story recently reported on the news presented by New York Times, which included an anecdote of a furious Musk yelling at Trump appointee Marco Rubio.

Trump later denied the clash, despite watching it like it was a sporting match, according to the New York Times.

Over the weekend, Trump sought to pour more cold water on that major report.

Taking to Truth Social, his own social media network, Trump wrote, "ELON AND MARCO HAVE A GREAT RELATIONSHIP."

"ANY STATEMENT OTHER THAN THAT IS FAKE NEWS!!!" he added.
