During an appearance on MSNBC on Saturday morning a journalist who was part of a team that won the Pulitzer Prize for their investigation of Donald Trump's finances said there is real concern within the family that there will be nothing left if they lose badly in Judge Arthur Engoron's courtroom.

Speaking with host Ali Velshi, New York Times investigative reporter Susanne Craig said things are getting "real "for the Trumps as things go from bad to worse for the future of the Trump Organization in the $250 million financial fraud trial that could lead to the dismantling of the company and its assets being sold off one by one.

"There is already a receiver over his [Donald Trump] company," Craig told the MSNBC host. "The day that you and I were on air, he was found liable to fraud, and the judge immediately said, get the fraudsters out of the driving seat, they are no longer going to be running this company, I'm putting a receiver in charge."

"And the reason they do that is to protect the value of the assets because some of these assets may, in the end, have to be sold to pay that fine," she added.

"To pay whatever the fine is, " host Vleshi interjected.

"Right," the New York Times reporter replied. "I really think what's going on, and the reason that Donald Trump and the family are so hot under the collar on this is that it's real. It is real for Donald Trump in a courtroom, and it's real for them because this is their inheritance and their children's inheritance on the line here."

"Two-hundred fifty million is a lot of money for Donald Trump," she concluded.
