The New York Supreme Court's Appellate Division is expected to hear arguments on Monday afternoon after Donald Trump asked to appeal a gag order in his $250 million civil fraud trial.
Earlier on Monday, attorneys for Trump requested permission to file for appeal after a lower appeals court reinstated the gag order last week.
"Without expedited review, Petitioners will continue to suffer irreparable injury daily, as they are silenced on matters implicating the appearance of bias and impropriety on the bench during a trial of immense stakes," a motion from Trump's attorney said.
The gag order was put in place by New York Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron after Trump attacked one of the judge's law clerks, leading to harassment.
