CNN’s Anderson Cooper on Thursday struggled to get through the entirety of President Donald Trump’s recent social media post where he doubled down on his lofty vision for remaking the Gaza Strip into a world-class destination.

But it was a task Cooper undertook on his primetime show, “Anderson Cooper Live” – though he sprinkled annotations into his recital of the Truth Social post while ripping Trump's words apart.

"The Gaza Strip would be turned over to the United States by Israel at the conclusion of fighting," Trump’s post said, as read by Cooper. “Unclear,” Cooper said. “So, I guess the cease fire would be done, there'd be a new war, and then at the conclusion of that war…”

Cooper continued reading the post but was quickly stopped in his tracks.

“Then his tweet continued: The Palestinians, people like Chuck Schumer…” Cooper said, seeming perplexed as he paused mid-sentence.

“Chuck Schumer is not Palestinian,” Cooper told viewers. “He’s not Palestinian,” the veteran news anchor repeated as he re-read the sentence, this time including Trump’s erratic use of punctuation.

Cooper eventually got through the reading of the lengthy post and made it to his guest interviews. He later told his two guests it was “remarkable” that Trump’s proposal is being “treated as a real plan.”

“The core problem here,” the New York Times’ David Sanger told Cooper. “Is there is no plan.”
