An agent for the Internal Revenue Service is not happy with the man he voted for in the 2024 presidential election after he found himself getting laid off recently.
In an interview with NBC Philadelphia, newly out-of-work IRS agent Robert McCabe fumed that President Donald Trump appears to be indiscriminately firing government employees no matter their productivity.
"You know when he talks about government waste and all that, yes, I’m behind it,” McCabe said. “I believe there is a lot of stuff in the government that needs fixing. And that’s part of the reason why I actually wanted to work for the government, actually. To help change. Help change the things that are wrong in the world, you know? I thought that someone with his business acumen would have come in with a fine-tooth comb and actually found it instead of coming in with a wrecking ball and destroying people’s lives for no reason.”

McCabe isn't the only Trump-backing federal employee to get burned by Trump's purge of government workers.
Fox News host Jesse Watters earlier this week pleaded with Trump to rehire a military veteran friend of his who had been given the ax by Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency.
"This guy is not a DEI consultant," Watters complained. "This guy is not a climate consultant. This guy is a veteran. So when you’re talking about DOGE-ing people, veterans should get priority. Because if you’re going to go out there and kill enemies, and put your life on the line for this country, you should not be in the same category as people that are doing DEI."
