On Tuesday morning's "Morning Joe," co-host Joe Scarborough and MSNBC regular John Heilemann went at each other over a disagreement over the nomination of Pete Hegseth to become the next secretary of defense and whether Donald Trump should drop the embattled former Fox News host.

According to Scarborough, the president-elect would not be serving America or himself well by letting Hegseth be grilled by Democrats in nationally televised hearings about allegations of sexual assault and public drunkenness by those who have worked with him.

Heilemann countered that Trump enjoys the chaos and would view it as a sign of strength that would be viewed favorably by his supporters.

That led to a contentious back and forth between the two political observers while the "Morning Joe" panel looked on.

After Scarborough contended it would be "Bad" for Trump to allow Hegseth to be subjected to public humiliation, he then added, "We have documented whistle-blower reports, we have testimony."

His guest countered, "I'm not trying to make the argument, I'm not saying you're wrong, the question about what is about to unfold, if there was unanimity in Donald Trump's world this was a mistake, they could have gotten out of it already."

As he added, "I think there are people around Donald Trump who are very ..," Scarborough interrupted.

"Do you think Donald Trump wants ..." he started.

"I don't know what Donald Trump wants," Heilemann shot back.

The MSNBC host spoke over him, continuing with his comment, "...wants testimony about this person coming up saying he raped me and the public drunkenness and the destroying the vets organization?"
