CNN host Jake Tapper didn't hold back when it came to a statement Donald Trump's civil lawyer Alina Habba gave outside the Miami courthouse on Tuesday.

Among the allegations from Habba was that "the people in charge of this country do not love America" because they "hate Donald Trump." It has been an ongoing argument used by Trump that ties together love for him and love of the United States.

"Okay. Well, that's a lot of crazy, but what's your reaction Elie?" asked Tapper.

Former prosecutor Elie Honig explained that attacks from people like Habba on prosecutors is "unfounded and completely destructive."

"And especially when we look at this case because, to Jack Smith's credit, he has taken every step to charge this on Donald Trump's turf," said Honig. "He decided to charge this in Florida. There is a legal argument. It would have been riskier, that he could charge it right here in Washington, D.C. where he would have had a much more favorable jury pool. Instead, he's said, I'm charging this in a red state on your turf, Donald Trump, and on top of that, they filed the case in a district where it was very likely and they did get judge Aileen Cannon who is a Trump nominee to the bench. So, there's absolutely nothing underlying that. There's no foundation for these attacks, they're destructive of our whole system."
