Trump is relying on GOP's big guns to win him Iowa as trials pull him out of state: report
Marjorie Taylor Greene on Facebook.

Due to his multiple legal headaches, Donald Trump doesn't have any rallies scheduled in Iowa as the state's caucuses approach. One way he's making up for the gap is by employing some conservative allies to do his campaigning for him, The New York Times reported.

"To start its efforts in January, the campaign last week held events with Gov. Kristi Noem of South Dakota, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia and Eric Trump, one of Mr. Trump’s sons," The Times' report stated.

"This week, Ben Carson, Mr. Trump’s former secretary of housing and urban development, is scheduled for two appearances in eastern Iowa."

Trump also plans to hold events with actress and supporter Roseanne Barr, Arkansas Gov. Sarah Sanders, and former Arkansas Governor-turned TV host Mike Huckabee.

The Iowa caucuses are scheduled for Monday.

According to the Times' Trump's use of surrogates is an old campaign tactic that's designed to ease the challenge of making one's case to voters in early-voting states with closely-scheduled contests.

While other 2024 GOP candidates have employed the same strategy, Trump has a much deeper bench of conservative stars to tap into. "Surrogates like Ms. Noem, Ms. Greene and Representative Matt Gaetz of Florida, who held an event in Cedar Rapids last month, are themselves big draws for audiences," according to The Times.
