Former President Donald Trump told a flagrant lie about his past calls to lock up one-time Democratic rival Hillary Clinton, and CNN's Kasie Hunt on Monday delivered a swift fact check.
Hunt began by playing an interview with Trump that aired on Sunday in which he claimed that he never called on Clinton to be locked up for her handling of classified information during her tenure as secretary of state.
"Hillary Clinton, I didn't say 'lock her up,'" Trump said.
"Yes you did," Hunt replied and then played clips of Trump at a 2016 rally in which he said, "For what she's done, they should lock her up" and "Hillary Clinton has to go to jail!"
For good measure, Hunt threw in a clip of Trump in 2020 in which he told a campaign rally that they should "lock up the Bidens" and "lock up Hillary."

Former federal prosecutor Elliot Williams, commenting on Trump's apparent flip-flop on the criminal justice system, said that the former president right now reminds him of other white-collar criminals he's seen who have suddenly started to decry the unfairness of the system once they become its targets.
"The moment that they get pulled into the system, then all of a sudden it's biased, it's rigged, it's corrupt, I don't want to pay my taxes anymore," he said. "And I think you're seeing that play out here on a national scale, because this is a very high-profile figure, someone who has been brought into the system now, saying the system's broken, rigged, corrupt, and I don't want to pay my taxes anymore."
