Hours after Donald Trump took to his Truth Social account to celebrate the confirmation of embattled Fox News personality Pete Hegseth to be the next secretary of defense despite allegations of sexual assault and public drunkenness, he returned to attack MSNBC's Rachel Maddow.
The popular Maddow, a frequent critic of the president dating back to his first term that ended in 2020, recently returned to full-time nightly duty on the network to the delight of her fans.
Maddow's return was described as "part of a broader move by MSNBC to draw viewership to its coverage of the first 100 days of the Trump administration."

Based on Trump's late-night post, he's not happy that she will be back to plague him five nights a week.
On Truth Social he launched an attack aimed at Maddow, her network, and CNN.
"Wow! Rachel Maddow has horrible ratings. She’ll be off the air very soon. MSNBC IS CLOSE TO DEATH. CNN HAS REACHED THE BOTTOM. This is a good thing," he wrote before adding, "They are the Enemy of the people!"
The president, as he is known to do, provided no evidence that led to his post nor any indication of what set him off.
