The MAGA media world just underwent a "seismic shift," and it revealed that President Donald Trump's impending doom may be just over the horizon, according to two analysts.
On Friday, the MAGA media outlet "The Daily Wire" laid off about half of its staff, according to reports. While the layoffs are notable in their own right, Democratic analyst Adam Mockler and strategist Mike Nellis argued during a new podcast episode on Saturday that the company's downsizing reveals just how unpopular Trump has become.
"Right now, there is a war that many Americans are paying attention to, and many Americans care about," Mockler said. "So if the Daily Wire, which is a company that focuses a lot on the Middle East ... can't hold the attention of the American public on this war, it must be because the war is failing. The war is unpopular, and they don't know how to take a popular position on this."
Nellis argued that the Daily Wire's downsizing revealed how "angry" Americans have become at the Trump administration. He also noted that people appear to be "breaking out of MAGA" to reorient themselves.
"Americans are in alignment that what's happening in the country is bad," Nellis said. "The war is terrible. The economy is a mess. People are mad about the corruption. They're mad about the Epstein files. They're mad about the stupid ballroom that they spent all week trying to build, and with taxpayer dollars, might I add. People are angry."
