According to the editorial board of the conservative Wall Street Journal, Donald Trump's criticism of Israel's Benjamin Netanyahu as the prime minister's country was reeling from a devastating attack by Hamas is another example of why he should never be allowed to set foot in the Oval Office again.

During a speech following the surprise attack that has now plunged the Middle East into war once again, the former president praised the terrorist group Hezbollah as "very smart" for taking advantage of the invasion with an attack of its own. The Iran-backed Lebanese militant group has clashed with Israeli forces in the days following Hamas' action.

In that same speech, he criticized Netanyahu for declining to help a U.S. operation to kill Iranian general Qasem Soleimani in 2020, telling the audience, “I’ll never forget that Bibi Netanyahu let us down.”

POLL: Should Trump be allowed to run for office?

Those comments led the editorial board to hammer the former president for using the crisis in the Middle East to whine about yet another personal slight.

As the editors wrote, "Mr. Netanyahu is the political leader of America’s closest friend in the Middle East, which is staring down the worst security crisis in 50 years. At least 27 Americans are dead and more are missing. But Mr. Trump can’t separate this from his personal grievances."

Noting that Trump is also mad at Israel's leader because he immediately acknowledged Joe Biden won the 2020 election , which led to Trump to tell Axios, "He was very early — like earlier than most. I haven’t spoken to him since. F--k him,” the editors dropped the hammer on Trump.

"Mr. Trump can’t help himself from making everything about himself. That’s the same way he handled the COVID crisis, and it’s what voters would get in a second Trump term in a much more dangerous world," they pronounced.
