A jury last year found former President Donald Trump liable for defaming and sexually abusing journalist E. Jean Carroll.
While this is the kind of damaging verdict that most politicians would dream of using against their opponents, Trump's rivals for the Republican Party nomination have shied away from attacking him over it.
In fact, top Trump rival Nikki Haley declined to criticize Trump for the verdict even after being served up a chance to do so by CNN's Dana Bash on Tuesday.
"You're the only woman in this race," Bash said to Haley. "How do you feel about your party's frontrunner being held liable for sexual abuse?"
"I mean, first of all, I haven't paid attention to his cases, and I'm not a lawyer," Haley replied, despite the fact that most political candidates in the past have paid attention to their opponents' legal troubles and have tried to use them to their advantage. "All I know is that he's innocent until proven guilty."

In fact, a jury has already found Trump liable in a civil lawsuit.
Haley then went on to argue that "some of" the cases that have been brought against Trump have been "witch hunts," despite claiming just seconds earlier that she wasn't paying attention to any of them.
Regardless, she said that in "every one of these cases, they need to be heard out," and that if he's "found guilty then he needs to pay the price."
