During Wednesday night's GOP debate, former President Donald Trump was a no-show, opting instead to be a part of a town hall.

But Trump remained a presence in the questions asked of his two rivals vying to become the 47th president.

Asked about the former president's claim that he had absolute immunity — even when it comes to assassinating political rivals, former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley shot the notion of presidential immunity in this case as “ridiculous.”

“That’s ridiculous. That’s absolutely ridiculous. We need to use some common sense here,” she said.

She added, that presidents “can’t” kill a political rival and then willy nilly claim immunity.

Trump attorney Dean John Sauer on Tuesday argued before the D.C. Circuit court's three-judge panel that a president directing SEAL Team Six to off a political rival would be shielded from criminality, unless Congress brought a successful impeachment first.
