Donald Trump’s Monday morning post on Truth Social about the shocking death of Hollywood star Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer started out calling it, “A very sad thing.”
But it quickly took an ugly turn in an attack that left onlookers sickened — including many of the president's own fans.
Just hours after the two were found in their Brentwood, California home, the president wrote, “A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood. Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS.
"He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before. May Rob and Michele rest in peace!”
That did not sit well with some of the president’s fans who urged him to delete the post, with one calling the president “heartless.”
Charlie Kirk supporter Ant fired back, “Didn’t agree with Rob’s views or what he said but no one deserves to go out like that”
“Very tacky Mr. President,” wrote Lighthouser, whose Truth Social account is littered with attacks on Muslim immigrants.
“Terrible post and I am a big Trump supporter. Take it down!!” commented @Laurengerbino.
Gracelover wrote, “I respect you so much, but this was heartless and uncalled for,” which led Medgirl to add, “You could have just said RIP. Love you Mr. President, but none of the other stuff was needed. It’s very sad that we are living in the world we live in right now.
MAGAHarleyChick offered, “Please stop President Trump. You’re my president and I will vote for you always but this is not a good idea or a very smart comment. I don’t know who’s advising you but they are not very smart.”
Mike D who had previously reposted Trump writing, “We must all pray for Charlie Kirk, who has been shot. A great guy from top to bottom. GOD BLESS HIM!” snapped, “This is absolutely insane to write.”
“There are no words for this post, no good words anyway,” offered Iworkforangels.
WMMark suggested, “Dear President Trump. Sometimes saying nothing is better. Don't let your ego get the best of you. You are just giving the enemy more ammunition and you will alienate fringe supporters. Come on, you are smarter than this.”
