Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo on Friday pushed back on President Donald Trump's erratic decision making when it comes to slapping tariffs on foreign goods.

During an interview, Bartiromo pointed out to Trump that he was essentially ripping up a trade deal with Canada and Mexico that he negotiated during his first term, and she argued that this was adding unnecessary uncertainty to the markets.

"I think CEOs want to see predictability," she said. "They say, look, I've got to speak with shareholders, I've got to make plans for capex spending, I can't if it's 20 percent one day then it's off for a month, then it's 25 percent. So can you give us a sense of whether or not we're going to get clarity?"

"Well I think so, but the tariffs could go up as times go by," Trump replied. "They may go up. And I don't know if it's predictability..."

"That's not clarity," Bartiromo interjected.

"I think that they say that, you know, it sounds good to say," Trump replied. "But for years the globalists, the big globalists have been ripping off the United States, have been taking money from the United States."
