
A Federal judge has issued an unrelated injunction, blocking President Donald Trump from implementing his tariff plan.
“BREAKING: Judge Contreras has blocked Trump's tariffs as unlawful. This is a *separate* injunction by a federal judge in D.C., unrelated to the block issued yesterday by judges on the federal trade court.” Politico Senior legal affairs reporter Kyle Cheney said on X.

Yesterday a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of International Trade held the president's "reciprocal tariffs" imposed on virtually the entire rest of the world are illegal.
One of the judges who called the tariffs illegal was appointed by Trump.
The initial ruling determined Trump did not validly invoke the International Emergency Economic Powers Act for his tariffs.
