Former President Donald Trump started his Tuesday morning with an all-caps Truth Social tirade attacking both special counsel Jack Smith and President Joe "Bidden" (sic).

"COULD SOMEBODY PLEASE EXPLAIN TO THE DERANGED, TRUMP HATING JACK SMITH, HIS FAMILY, AND HIS FRIENDS, THAT AS PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, I COME UNDER THE PRESIDENTIAL RECORDS ACT, AS AFFIRMED BY THE CLINTON SOCKS CASE, NOT BY THIS PSYCHOS’ FANTASY OF THE NEVER USED BEFORE ESPIONAGE ACT OF 1917," Trump's post began.

This section of the post contains multiple falsehoods: The Presidential Records Act explicitly states that the federal government, not the president, owns presidential records; most legal experts say that the Clinton "socks" case has nothing to do with the charges currently being brought against Trump; and the Espionage Act has been used to bring charges multiple times, including recently against an FBI analyst who had stashed classified documents at her residence.

Trump continued his rant by trying to turn the tables on the current president.

"'SMITH' SHOULD BE LOOKING AT CROOKED JOE BIDDEN (sic) AND ALL OF THE CRIMES THAT HE HAS PERPETRATED ON THE AMERICAN PUBLIC, INCLUDING THE MILLIONS & MILLIONS OF DOLLARS HE EXTORTED FROM FOREIGN COUNTRIES!" Trump concluded.

Despite Trump's claims, there have been no credible allegations so far that Biden has extorted millions of dollars from foreign countries.

Trump's latest rant came just hours after he angrily lashed out at Smith for purportedly leaking a recording of Trump boasting to guests at his Bedminster resort about retaining a classified war plan against Iran.
