Donald Trump is set to face yet another trial this month involving allegations that he duped investors into putting money into a failed video phone.
The little-mentioned civil trial is scheduled to start on January 29, Newsweek reported Monday. The judge has, however, signaled that it's likely that date will be pushed back
The lawsuit which was filed in 2018 claims Trump was paid millions of dollars to endorse the company ACN, which was marketing a video phone — a technology that became quickly outdated with the advent of smartphones.
The lawsuit claims he used his TV show Celebrity Apprentice to promote the phone, but didn’t disclose a financial connection to ACN, Newsweek reported. The lawsuit claims he said the phones were bringing in “half-a-billion dollars” a year.
Newsweek's report quotes the lawsuit as stating: "Trump also told investors that he had 'experienced the opportunity' and 'done a lot of research,' and that his endorsement was 'not for any money.' Not a word of this was true.”

It went on, "Trump told prospective investors that "[y]ou have a great opportunity before you at ACN without any of the risks most entrepreneurs have to take.”
It’s the second civil trial Trump faces this month. Another is set to decide damages after a judge found Trump liable of defaming writer E. Jean Carroll for a second time.
Judge Arthur Engoron is also expected to rule on damages in Trump’s fraud case, which was heard at the end of last year.
