Donald Trump’s furious late-night announcement that trade negotiations with Canada have been terminated may have repercussions beyond just a war on words with America’s neighbor.

During a discussion on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” about the president’s late night outburst on Truth Social about an ad featuring Ronald Reagan, where Trump wrote, “They only did this to interfere with the decision of the U.S. Supreme Court, and other courts. TARIFFS ARE VERY IMPORTANT TO THE NATIONAL SECURITY, AND ECONOMY, OF THE U.S.A. Based on their egregious behavior, ALL TRADE NEGOTIATIONS WITH CANADA ARE HEREBY TERMINATED,” Jonathan Lemire raised the prospect it could impact the World Series which begins Friday night.

Speaking with the panel about how Trump has reignited his war with Canada for sketchy reasons, Lemire brought up the Los Angeles Dodgers taking on the Blue Jays in Toronto before a worldwide television audience.

“This is the president United States throwing a fit over an ad and we should note the timing of this is pretty remarkable,” Lemire told the MSNBC panel. “Because he gets angry about this today? What's tonight? Tonight is game one of the World Series.”

“Where is that game being played? Toronto, Canada,” he added.

“Oh boy,” co-host Mika Brzezinski exclaimed.

“So there's going to be — let's watch the American national anthem likely get booed tonight like it was during that hockey tournament earlier in the spring,” Lemire continued.

“This is going to set the exact moment where we should be celebrating our friendship with Canada,” he observed.
