Vice President J.D. Vance's praise of Donald Trump for launching an unprovoked attack on Iran led him to disparage previous presidents which both stunned and angered critics on Sunday morning.

During an interview with MNBC host Kristin Welker, Vance could not say enough good things about the president, stating at one time, "The Iranians are clearly not very good at war. Perhaps they should follow President Trump’s lead and give peace a chance. f they’re serious about it, I guarantee you the President of the United States is too.”

With regard to previous dealings with Iran, he said, "I understand the concern, but the difference is that back then we had dumb presidents, and now we have a president who actually knows how to accomplish America's national security objectives."

That set off a firestorm on social media, with one critic writing, "OMG I thought this was a joke. Talk about dumb."

"Dumb presidents? Both were republicans. We have an even more dumb president now so idk how this is a flex…' noted Bluesky user Jeremy.

Colleen Strider wrote, "And now we have deranged man babies as president and vice."

"Why does the entirety of the Administration sound like fifth graders? We are in dangerous times because we have yet to hear anything cogent out of their mouths," Sonder observed.

Another wrote, "Good grief this is just hopeless at this point. They are brainless morons, we are being dragged down the pike by useless morons who think they know what they are doing."

"Like former president Donald Trump?" Lindsay quipped to which another commenter added, "Literally that Arrested Development meme"

Maho Pacheco expressed surprise and wrote, "Oh wow, I thought you were 'translating' political lingo, this was actually a quote," with another agreeing and adding, "OMG I thought the quote was satire, but he really said that!"

Jennifer Keith added, "Oh my god. My disdain for this loathsome idiot is boundless."

"This man should never open his mouth to speak. Like ever," advised Suzan Rose.
