VIENNA (Reuters) - Credit Suisse said on Sunday it "strongly rejects" allegations of wrongdoing after dozens of media published results of coordinated, Panama Papers-style investigations into a leak of data on thousands of accounts held there in previous decades. One person leaked the information on the accounts ranging from the 1940s to the 2010s to Germany's Sueddeutsche Zeitung, which shared it with the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project and 46 other news organisations including the New York Times, the Guardian of Britain and France's Le Monde. Blinken says all signs suggest Russia on the brink of invading Ukraine

By Humeyra Pamuk WASHINGTON (Reuters) -All signs suggest Russia is on the brink of invading Ukraine, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Sunday, but still vowed that Washington would use every opportunity until the last minute to see if diplomacy would dissuade Moscow from going ahead. Speaking on broadcaster CNN's "State of the Union" show, Blinken maintained Washington's position that the deterrent impact of sanctions would be lost if they are triggered before an invasion despite Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy's passionate plea on Saturday to unleash them. Prince Andrew: Where the settlement money will come from – and why he should no longer be a prince

Prince Andrew and Virginia Giuffre have reached a settlement. Although this was always a likely outcome, the statement is worth probing in detail. Andrew accepts that Giuffre is a “victim of abuse”, and contrary to his interview with Newsnight, now “regrets his association” with Jeffrey Epstein. However, there is no admission of liability or statement of innocence regarding the allegations of sexual assault that Giuffre made against him. For Andrew, these remain hanging in the air, as he has not cleared his name in court.

What was the Chinese laser attack about and why does it matter?

Just after midnight last Thursday, a transiting Chinese People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLA-N) vessel shone a military-grade laser at an Australian air force plane conducting coastal maritime surveillance

This did not happen in the South China Sea near China’s coastline, but rather in the Arafura Sea, within Australia’s exclusive economic zone off the north coast of the country. From what we can ascertain, this is the closest an attempt at military intimidation by China has gotten to our shores.

The Chinese vessel has since steamed through the Torres Strait at the northern tip of Queensland accompanied by another PLA-N ship, heading towards the Coral Sea off the Great Barrier Reef.

Incidents of shelling across the line dividing government forces and separatists increased sharply last week, in what the Ukrainian government called a provocation. Kyiv's Western allies say Russia is preparing to invade Ukraine and are concerned that the escalation might be used as a pretext. Russia denies any plans to attack its neighbour, while Ukraine strongly denied su...
