The international feud that unfolded Friday in the Oval Office spilled into a new week after President Donald Trump delivered a veiled threat to Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky while insisting that Russia is ready to make a deal to end the bloody and costly war.
The vague warning to the Ukrainian leader came Monday as Trump spoke to reporters inside the White House after announcing a Taiwan chipmaker's $100 billion investment. But Trump was quickly steered into answering questions surrounding Russia and the relationship between the United States and Ukraine following the stunning blow-up targeting Zelensky.
“I think it takes two to tango, and you're going to have to make a deal with Russia, and you're going to have to make a deal with Ukraine,” Trump said after being asked if Americans should be concerned by Russia saying his administration's foreign policy is “largely in line with their vision.”
“It can be made very fast," he continued. "Now, maybe somebody doesn't want to make a deal, and if somebody doesn't want to make a deal, I think that person won't be around very long. That person will not be listened to very long, because I believe that Russia wants to make a deal.”

Trump added that he also believes “certainly the people of Ukraine want to make a deal. They’ve suffered more than anybody else. We talk about suffering, they've suffered.”
Trump later told reporters the situation was unfolding “as we speak.”
The remarks came as a White House official told Fox News that the United States is considering suspending or cancelling all Ukraine aid.
