MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski pointed to an unspoken intent behind Christine Blasey Ford's revelations about Brett Kavanaugh -- and her request for an FBI investigation of her sexual assault allegations.
The "Morning Joe" co-host said the California professor seemed to be worried that Kavanaugh, a federal judge and Supreme Court nominee, may have preyed on other girls or women.
"Would there be any upside to the Republicans saying, 'You know what? Let's have another investigation, another review, an FBI investigation into this to see?'" Brzezinski said.
Ford has asked for an FBI investigation, but GOP senators have insisted on a probe limited to the accuser and Kavanaugh testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee, although she has placed a third witness at the scene.
"I mean, obviously, if this woman is coming forward with such serious allegations, what she would be doing this for, one would assume, is that she's concerned that he's a predator," Brzezinski said. "So if a person is a predator, there is obviously, usually -- especially with a long lifetime after the alleged incident -- there would be a pattern. There would be other women, and an FBI investigation would certainly be able to bear that out."
