CNN's Don Lemon opened his Friday night show by slamming President Donald Trump as nothing more than a "pouting child."

Trump has been criticized by both Democrats and Republicans for throwing a "temper-tantrum" over his border wall.

Lemon said that Trump sounded like a "pouting child" while going on a Twitter rant about the ongoing partial government shutdown.

"Day seven of the partial shutdown of the federal government, and no end in sight. President Trump is staying in Washington. He's growing angrier by the moment, sounding really like a pouting child."

"We will be forced to close the Southern Border entirely if the Obstructionist Democrats do not give us the money to finish the Wall," Trump tweeted.

“He’s now threatening to close the border with Mexico. He said the U.S. will be forced to close the southern border entirely if the obstructionist democrats do not give us the money to finish the wall," Lemon said.

“The blame is all his,” Lemon said.

He then mentioned that Trump is ending the year with an unprecedented number of investigations and a record-breaking number of lies told. He explained that the Democrats are gearing up to have majority control of the House in 2019.

"Key Democrats say they have been inundated by impressive resumes. That a lot of people want to be part of what's expected to be the largest Congressional investigation of a sitting president in recent memory," Lemon said.

He then explained that Trump is entering the year with less staff.

"Yet on the other side of Pennsylvania Avenue, inside the Trump White House, major jobs are unfilled. The president doesn't have a permanent chief of staff. He doesn't have a permanent defense secretary or attorney general, and that's just to name a few," he said.

Lemon added, "A word from inside the White House is that since the Democrats big victory in the midterm elections President Trump has been worried."

"So here we go. Fasten your seatbelts. It's going to be a bumpy 2019," he concluded.
