Melania Trump's chief of staff worried the family's adult children would be an "embarrassment to the whole country" during a state visit with Queen Elizabeth II.
Stephanie Grisham reveals that her predecessor Lindsay Reynolds, who served as the first lady's top staffer until April 2020, was concerned that former president Donald Trump's children would disrupt the official visit by clamoring for attention, according to excerpts from her forthcoming book published by TMZ.
"We are going to look like the Beverly Hillbillies," Reynolds said, according to Grisham. "We'll be an embarrassment to the whole country."
Each of the former president's adult children wanted to fly on Air Force One and get seats at the official state dinner, including Donald Trump Jr.'s girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle and Tiffany Trump's boyfriend -- which infuriated Reynolds.
"It was the only trip in all four years that every single member of the family expected to attend," wrote Grisham, who took over for Reynolds in 2020.
