The special counsel investigating President Joe Biden's handling of classified documents isn't expected to file any charges, and Donald Trump predictably raged against the news.
Special counsel Robert Hur and his team are expected to issue a detailed report criticizing the current president and his staff for their handling of sensitive materials, but two sources close to the investigation told CNN that no charges are expected at the conclusion of the year-long probe.
"Wow! Fake news CNN, through a leak in the Department of Injustice, has reported that no charges with be filed in the (much bigger than mine!!!) crooked Joe Biden documents case," Trump posted in all-caps on Truth Social. "We are living in a very corrupt country!"
Trump has been indicted on 40 charges related to classified materials taken from the White House to his home at Mar-a-Lago, and special counsel Jack Smith's investigators allege the former president and two employees conspired to shield those materials from the Department of Justice after the National Archives asked for their return under the Presidential Records Act.

The FBI eventually secured a search warrant and found boxes of sensitive government materials stashed at the Florida resort, and witnesses have said Trump discussed their contents or even displayed them to individuals without security clearances.
Biden's attorneys, on the other hand, quickly notified the National Archives when they found classified materials dating to his time as vice president at his private office.
