Donald Trump Jr. hailed the value of AR-15 style rifles and 30-round magazines as ways to neutralize home intruders riding "motorized paragliders" from Hamas.

In the wake of the attack in Israel by the terrorist group Hamas, the right wing has stepped up its sales of guns like the AR-15. Pro-Palistinian activists have posted memes using a paraglider with the Palestinian flag. It appears Trump Jr. is using that image to gin up fear to sell guns.

"To the Democrats out there who are constantly trying to ban you know 30-round magazines for your AR-15 and the AR-15 themselves — that's why you need those things," he said. "That's why you need an AR-15. That's why you need a 30-round mag."

Trump Jr. appeared in the video Monday as part of a series inspired by the title of his book "Triggered," published in 2019.

He added: "Because if people in motorized paragliders come into your home — that's what it's for."

The 45th president's son then confessed that these weapons are suitable for hunting, which is an argument pro-gun advocates have said justifies access to the AR-15.

"It's not about hunting," he said. "It's never has been about hunting. Okay, but the left will try to conflate that argument."

Instead, he said the rifles are purely about self-defense.

"It's about protecting yourselves," Trump Jr. added. "And if our government, which seems really content on spying on your grandmother or anyone else who is a conservative or a concerned parent on the parent school board — not actual terrorists of course — if they're not gonna a be able to protect you — we have to protect ourselves."

He addressed the call to arms to any American who is losing faith in law enforcement to be there when danger rears its head. Trump's father has long been supportive of law enforcement, so it's unclear why they're now saying police can't protect Americans.

"You can never depend on the government to save you in a time of need," he said. "When seconds count cops are just minutes away — you need to be armed."

He said that this means not relying on anybody but yourself.

"You can only trust yourself to keep your family safe," he said. So I urge everyone — and I know a lot of people have been out there are buying guns this week — even leftists who could never imagine it... Take the time. Don't just buy the gun. Get the training."

The messaging here is that the gun buying process is one step, but the training is a way to not only be safe but another way to bond with the family.

"Take your family and let them learn," he said. "Not only is it safe but you'll all have a lot of fun," he closed. "I can guarantee you 99.9 percent of you are going to have an awesome time with a new hobby while also being able to defend yourself."
