CNN panel crushes Trump's lies about terrorists flooding through Mexico: 'We need a border wall over the sky'
Conservative Scott Jennings, who is normally a reliable defender of President Donald Trump, admitted on Monday that he was completely baffled by the White House's strategy to lie about terrorists pouring through the southern U.S. border.
After watching a clip of White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders getting shut down by Fox News' Chris Wallace for making false claims about terrorists entering the U.S. through Mexico, Jennings criticized the White House for jumping from one justification to another when it comes to funding the president's proposed border wall.
"I don't understand [why] the White House is transitioning to a different argument on Sunday on this border wall," he said. "You know, this has been an illegal immigration debate heretofore, that's what's worked for the president... Now they're transitioning to a debate over terrorism."
Jennings also said that terrorists are just as -- if not more -- likely to try to cross into the U.S. from Canada as from Mexico, which makes using the threat of terrorism to justify a southern border wall all the more nonsensical.
"If you follow Sarah's words, you not only need a wall on the southern border but northern border as well," he said. "That means you to seal up all the borders north and south."
Host Alisyn Camerota then chimed in to joke that Trump should also propose building something like a dome around America given that many more terrorists try to fly into the country.
"We would also need a border wall over the sky because those terrorists were captured at foreign airports as they tried to board a plane," she said.
