Hunter Biden filed a lawsuit against Rudy Giuliani, alleging that he and his attorney Robert Costello tried to breach his electronic devices in a violation of his rights, reported CNN.
“Plaintiff has demanded Defendants Giuliani and Costello cease their unlawful activities with respect to Plaintiff’s data and return any data in their possession belonging to Plaintiff, but they have refused to do so,” alleged Hunter Biden's attorneys in the complaint. “Defendants’ statements suggest that their unlawful hacking activities are ongoing today and that, unless stopped, will continue into the future, thereby necessitating this action.”
The scheme, said the lawsuit, amounts to a “total annihilation” of Hunter Biden's rights, as well as a violation of federal and state computer privacy laws.
POLL: Should Trump be allowed to run for office?
A former federal prosecutor and mayor of New York City, Giuliani is a close ally of former President Donald Trump.
This comes after Hunter Biden, who is a repeated target of Republican House investigators, has also sued the laptop repairman who handed over his device to Trump allies. He is also suing the Internal Revenue Service for alleged improper leaks of confidential tax information in witness testimony to Congress.
In addition to all these investigations, Hunter Biden is facing criminal prosecution for tax violations, and for allegedly buying a firearm at a time when he was ineligible due to drug use.
The new lawsuit is yet another financial blow to Giuliani, a key player in the original efforts to investigate Hunter Biden. In addition to facing criminal charges for election racketeering in Georgia, Giuliani is reportedly out of cash as he tries to defend against multiple other lawsuits and attorney bills.
